Question: "What is Old Testament theology?"

Answer:
Old Testament theology is the study of what God YHWH (Yahweh) has revealed about Himself in the Old Testament. Hebrew Bible. The system of Old Testament theology takes the various truths that the Old Testament Hebrew books teach us about God Yahweh and presents them in an organized fashion. God’s Yahweh’s  revelation of Himself creation begins in Genesis 1:1, In the beginning God  Powers (or Mighty Ones)  created the heavens skies and the land . . . earth  (Yahweh created all through His Alueim, “Powers”- His celestial beings). The presupposition of God Yahweh and His creative work is something that all believers should accept by faith simple observation of Yahweh’s natural sciences, and as emphasized throughout the revealed Hebrew Bible Scriptures. from Genesis to Revelation.

Old Testament theology is a rich and rewarding study of what God Yahweh revealed of Himself, His character, His attributes, etc., in the Old Testament. The Old Testament focuses primarily on God's Yahweh’s relationship with the Jews, Israelites starting with His call of Abraham in Genesis 12. He chose Israel and covenanted with them to be His chosen people. for the purpose of relaying His message to the world and ultimately bringing the Messiah to save us from our sin. Through His relationship with the Jews, Israel, Yahweh God blessed the entire world (Genesis 12:3). The Old Testament Hebrew Bible chronicles God's Yahweh’s progressive revelation of Himself, specifically to His chosen people but also to those of Gentile non-Israelite heritage, who also choose to keep His Covenant  (Isaiah 56) in order that we might learn who He is and His plan in the world. Into the very heart of the Old Testament Hebrew Bible is woven the idea of a covenant between God Yahweh and man: the first was made with Adam and others with Noah, Abraham, the nation of Israel, and David.

Old Testament Hebrew Bible theology is foundational to our understanding of God Yahweh and His purposes in the world. The seeds of the doctrines of substitutionary atonement, salvation, election, holiness, mercy, judgment, and forgiveness for sin are all found in the Hebrew Bible Old Testament. A study of Hebrew Bible Old Testament theology includes a look at theology proper, anthropology, and eschatology, and salvation among other vital subjects.

Added by AOY, Cascade -The Hebrew Bible, known as the Old Testament (OT) contains the inspired revealed word of the Almighty that was faithfully recorded by His chosen prophets to instruct ancient Biblical Israel. The Almighty’s word contains the unique complete and final authority for all matter of faithfulness and righteousness to enter His Kingdom and for eternal life, originally for Israel by keeping the Covenant/agreement. The renewed Covenant now dwells within believing Israelites, Jer. 31: 33.  All those accepting Him can also become True Israelites, Isaiah. 56. We know of no other document(s) today that contain the inspired revealed word of the Almighty.

Question: "What is New Testament theology?"

Answer: New Testament theology is replacement theology what God has revealed about Himself in the New Testament. The system of New Testament theology takes the various truths man made opinions and conjectures  that the New Testament books attempt to teach us about God (?) and presents them in an organized disorganized fashion. The New Testament discloses the coming of the Messiah predicted in the Old Testament (Isaiah 9), the rejection of the Messiah by Israel, the fulfillment of the Law, the birth of the New Testament church (the body of Christ), the church age, the gospel message of  the Kingdom of Yahweh/of heaven, by Jesus Christ, the anointed prophet Yahshua (aka Jesus) and instructions for believers in Jesus Christ. becoming faithful; by turning  away from the traditions of men, and to return to the counsel of Yahweh.

The phrase new covenant (or new testament) was spoken by Christ at the Last Supper (Luke 22:20). Paul cited the new covenant as the substance of the ministry to which he was called (2 Corinthians 3:6). The Old Testament is the record of the calling and history of the Jewish nation, and it contains the Mosaic Law, the Old Covenant to which Israel was bound for many years. The New Testament deals with the history and application of the Christ’s redemption from the Law (Galatians 4:4–5), a redemption He provided through His death on the cross (Ephesians 1:7). Being the New Covenant, it supersedes the Old (Hebrews 8:6, 13).

Addition: The Greek Bible, known as the New Testament (NT) is not the inspired word of the Almighty and does not claim to be it. It is a collection of various selected writings, opinions, and letters found during the First, Second, and Third Centuries. These writings have been modified over the years to appear inspired, and a continuation of the OT. But, the NT really began as a replacement/substitute for the OT, known as Marcionism, the notion of two gods, a higher transcendent one and the lower creator and the ruler of the earth. Marcion in his ideology attempted to reconcile his perceived contradictions between the Hebrew OT theology of one Almighty Creator, and the message proclaimed by the NT of the lower god Yahshua. The NT records quoted sayings and teachings from the OT made by the Prophet Yahshua, but also some letters supposed to have been written by his apostles as well. None claim the Almighty’s inspired word, making them unreliable for developing a foundation for belief.

Jesus of the NT was a prophet given the Hebrew name Yahshua. The name YaH-shua means Yahweh-saves. According to the NT writings, Yahshua was sent to the Lost Tribes of the house of Israel, (Matt. 10:5-6, 15:24). Yahshua was called “the son of Yahweh” by some of his followers, but he called himself “the son of man.” His evangel (gospel message) was “the Kingdom of Yahweh/of Heaven” (Matt. 4:2, 10:7), that the Kingdom had come, was at hand, and now will dwell within believers, (Luke 17:21). Yahshua was executed because of his faithfulness. His message was also preached by his apostles, and then delivered to all the Lost Tribes of Israel.

Theology is the study of the doctrines of the Bible, and religion in general, and includes following the progressive revelation that God made to man from the beginning of time to the end of the book of Revelation. New Testament theology primarily deals with the study of Christology, ecclesiology, and soteriology. Plus, it furthers our understanding of eschatology, pneumatology, angelology, hamartiology, and other fields of religious doctrine.

Salvation/redemption that brings eternal life was Yahweh’s gift of mercy first to the ancient Israelites. It is now also for the stranger (non-Israelite) and for all those who desire to become True Israelites, (Isa. 56). Eternal life is free to all upon sincere repentance before Yahweh for sin; by accepting and then keeping His Covenant, (the Commandments). Because of gratefulness we worship Yahweh only and no others powers or mighty-ones.

Mic 6:6  How shall I come before Yahweh, and bow myself before the exalted Mighty One? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?

Mic 6:7  Will Yahweh be pleased with thousands of rams? With tens of thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my disobedience? The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

Mic 6:8  He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your Mighty One?
